Pink Shirt Sunday February 23

On February 26th each year, we mark Pink Shirt Day in Canada.

The gesture started when a group of students noticed one of their classmates being bullied because he was wearing a pink shirt. So, they set out to ALL wear pink shirts to send a clear message of support to those bullied, and to tell bullies that this behaviour had no place in their school.

This is a day to stand up and say “NO” to bullying.

In anticipation of that day, you are invited to please wear a Pink shirt, sweater, Scarf, hoodie…. Something pink NEXT Sunday 23 February to worship. Let’s stand in solidarity with those who are bullied. And let’s send a clear message that bullying has no place at St. Paul’s, in New Brunswick, in Canada. (We could even add the US as well…)

In his years working within the Québec School system, David-Roger co-authored a tool kit for schools to address bullying and violence in the Schools. Working with Agence Ometz and La Fondation Sophie Démarais/Jasmin Roy, David-Roger and Camil Sansfaçon helped develop guide books for the school population to help them enact a Québec bill requiring schools to have an anti-bullying plan.
